Moving Head LED
Role: Project Management, Programming
Team:

Project Overview:
As part of project class at Langara College I worked on a moving head LED light. This project is similar to the moving head projector in that it is a Pan/Tilt mechanism meant for stage lighting but is obviously much simpler. The main light source is a 10W RGB LED surrounded by Neo-Pixels. Artnet data is parsed on an Arduino mega which communicates to two stepper motor drivers in order to control the motion of the LED fixture. The mechanical design of this was a simple direct drive due to time and budget constraints but performed well enough for our purposes.
Key Features:
10W RGB LED
Neo-Pixel ring
Nema 24 stepper motors
Solid Aluminum Enclosure
Status LED
DMX loop-thru
